Final Images.

Hi guys.

So here are the final images i came up with.

Image 1.
Shows our idea of shark island. The fun lies below the green housing. The only evidence of what lies below are the tubes that connect the two zones.

Image 2.
Reinforces the ideas of this connection.

Image 3.
Shows the idea of the green housing. Literal green housing - so that the housing blends into its environment so much that the tubes are the only evidence of the action that lies below - reinforcing the relationships to the shark fin.

Image 4.
Shows the two separate zones or areas - one of calm the other action, adventure, entertainment, chaos and more.

Ning,

We at group 11 would just like to sum up our design concept.

By reducing the Rangsit students concept of the shark island down to the simplistic idea of what the shark represents in terms of behavioral patterns and physical characteristics, we developed a concept where the chaotic, adventurous eco-tourism is housed below the surface much the like thrashing body of the shark, where from the surface the only indication of its presences is its fin.

Our drawings have been developed to show the orientation of these two specific zones and how they are connected with tubes that penetrate the surface. These tubes were suggested by the Rangsit students and we felt it could be a great aspect of the design to exaggerate in order to engage them as visual reminders of the adventure the lurks below the surface. The idea of the balloons allows the tubes to be put in context when they penetrate above the surface into the residential zone as they indicate a visual link and also a physical passage way to below.

Also please note that a number of our post have been commented on by various group members rather than written as new posts, so they might be over looked unless you were made aware.

Cheers, Group 11 (Katrina the Courageous Outrageous, Jess the Mighty, Kate the Chief, Matt the Mate).
hey guys,

Jess those pictures were great, I think Katrina hit the nail on the head with taking the details of the tubes a little further.

I think that the direction we are taking really cements the concept of the shark where adventure is contained under ground and the peaceful living above. Also the balloon idea is a quirky way of allowing the users to glimpse at what is below the surface, much like a shark and it's fin. It gives the tubes an identity and therefor a purpose, it puts them in context rather than being just random tubes penetrating the calm residential area.

hey,
The contrast of the different spaces in your images is nice. There probably needs to be greater emphasis on the transport tubes. In our final images a closer view of theses elements may be appropriate. Maybe an image of a single tube protruding through a house is a good way to convey our concept. It would also be important to include some visual indicator emerging from the tube. This could include a dramatic lighting effect or an escaped item from the fun below, e.g. balloons.

Hello team,
